Hitting the highest temperature of 42.2 degrees celsius on August 19, 1912 and on May 11, 1969, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley, Philippines is considered as the hottest area in the country.

Some people don't consider Tuguegarao City as a tourist spot and, they're missing a lot of what this city can offer them. From caves, churches, museums, food andman y more, "Tugue" as how they call the city, is hiding a such magnificent beauty of nature.
I once visited the city for a talk together with my radio team which is Kabataan On Air on DWDD 1134 kHz Katropa Radio and we experienced the warm welcome they showed us as we enter our respected rooms. It's true, the city is really hot but it makes it more unique than the others. The people are well adapted to the weather and its geographical state.

We had the chance to share our knowledge in broadcasting in radio and tv to the students from different schools in Cagayan Valley. We teach them how we air our program, its concept and its essence to the public.
After that the local organizers offered us a local cuisines, unfortunately I didn't think of asking the name of the food because I'm starving already.

On the next day, we decided to stay for the mean time and explore the city but the girls went back to Manila for other engagments. So it's just the three of us who witnessed the beauty of the Tugue.

From our Inn, we went to the bayan which is near in Brickstone Mall, where we had our talk I mentioned above. We had a jeepney ride to Callao Cave, this cave is 1 out of 300 caves in Cagayan Valley which is located in the municipality of Penablanca. The opening of the cave can be seen after 184 staircase. It is a limestone cave with 7 chambers.

After caving we also went to the St. Peter Cathedral.

Hey! Of course, I can't take to forget the delicious food the city is proud of. First is the "CHICHARABAO", chicharon made out of Carabao's Skin. Second, Carabao's Milk Candy. Last but not he least is the famous "Panci Batil Patung", pancit mike with local topings (mincedcarabao's meat, bean sprout, vegetables and egg on top). Unfortunatley, I haven't tried the last one. :(

Lastly, If you really want to see more of what Cagayan can offer you can add to your tour this awesome beach.
This is the gem of Sta. Ana, the Anguib Beach dubbed as the next Boracay of the North. This is the best place to enjoy the heat of Cagayan. As you can see, white sand and crystal clear water makes it so enchanted.
These are just some of the pride of Tuguegarao and Cagayan Valley. Vacation is coming so book now and enjoy the beauty of Tuguegarao City!
